Today is Mother’s Day and I am so excited to be announcing the winner of my Mothers Day Photography competition!
I ran this competition on the Serene Bedlam Photography Facebook page in the week leading up to Mother’s Day and was thrilled with the response, but also a little sad. So many people gave the reason why they wanted to win as they hadn’t had family photos in forever.. or in some cases, EVER! I’m guilty of this myself, it never seems like the right time – you want to capture the next big event or you want to wait until you’ve lost a few kilograms or or or or.. the reasons to put it off seem endless. The truth is though we want to capture the now; the couple or the fur-babies or the newness of the itty bitty baby, the not quite toddling toddler with the chubby rolls and the clingyness. We want to remember the missing teeth of the early primary student or the braces of the high school (still, barely) child. We want to capture it against the Pilbara backdrop which has been there forever but has become a part of our lives. But we’re busy and it gets put on a to-do list that never quite gets done. There are so many schedules to line up and it becomes a job for tomorrow.
Nobody ever regrets capturing those moments, of printing them and putting them on the walls so they become part of your home. Of putting the digitals on the screen saver of the Apple TV or the computer so that as those babies turn into toddlers turn into children turn into young adults they can laugh and reminisce and cringe and remember. They make the best presents for extended families.
I want to have as many families as possible create those memories. I’m so happy to announce the winner of the Facebook competition but I want to make it easier for those who expressed a deep desire to create family memories to do so! For the remainder of May if you book a Family Photography Session the session fee is just $50 and there is a 20% discount on all products.
I hope this encourages you to make this the time to create the memories.
